Default Rear defroster not working.

So i drove to work yesterday in the SS and the back window was all clouded, was like 45 degrees....I pressed the button and nothing happened. never needed to use it before. SoI checked the fuse and its fine. Any other places i should look to find the problem?

Silly question, but are both terminals plugged in?

Checked it this morning and 1 of the terminals is separated from the window. looks like someone tried to repair it and failed...some hardened goop is where the wire should stick to the window.

I've found it to be a challenge to get the tab back on. I've tried the usual grid restoration kits, but they usually detached after a while. I'd love to see anyone' successful solution to this.

On my Convertible, I had to re-solder the tab on.
It was a bitch but I did get it back on using flux and a 120 watt soldering gun.

I've always been concerned about the heat from the soldering iron cracking the glass. Is this not an issue?

I'm not sure. It worked for me and held up for 6 years, until I replaced the top this Summer.
