The top on my 01 Firebird is having trouble going up and down. I heard somewhere that you could put automatic transmission fluid in the pump and it would work but I'm not sure how to go about doing it. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks!

So the pumps just lose fluid and then have trouble lowering and raising the tops? Where does the fluid go?

Mine went under my passenger back seat. The cylinder was leaking on mine.

If the leak is at the pump or one of the line connections to the pump, the fluid will end up in the rear fender well and drip out behind the LR tire.
