Default Insurance claim

Has anyone made a claim with their insurance, for vandalism on their top? Any issues from your insurance company, paying out the claim? Were you able to choose your own replacement top, ie; the best on the market, lol...

Police report needed with case number which will have the date/time of crime/occurrence. Photos should be taken even if seen by an actual insurance inspector for your own records. The insurance company might lowball you with an offer but insist on genuine Haartz material if that was still on your car.

I hope you have a reasonable deductible because if the first thousand has to come from you it will hurt. Good luck.

I had a MGB convertible top slashed once, the insurance company sent me a check that covered the new top plus installation.... They guy that did mine supplied the top and the labor and his estimate to the insurance company wasn't questioned.. I think I had to pay a 50 dollar deductible (my comprehensive covered it at a low deductible cause of vandalism) z, and I tipped the installer
a case of beer and 25 bucks just cause he really did a nice job.
