? about race with vette i have a 00 ss vert and my friend/boss has a 99 vette. how bad will he leave me? we both have a-4 
besides weight and better exhaust advantage what else does he have to his advantage? both r stock except that i cut i pipe and put to side for louder sound .

i have raced two c5's..the first was when my car was stock and it was against a hardtop vette...we both took off from about a 10 mph roll and he was just barely pulling away from me..the second one was after i got my headers and exhaust installed and it was a convertible. We took off from a 40 mph roll and i beat him by about 2 cars by the time we hit 100. I dont know if they were sticks or autos but they aren't much quicker then our cars
It depends on cars and drivers. If you took the strongest 99 A4 C5 against the strongest 99 A4 vert the C5 would win. That said I've seen alot of A4 C5 pre 01s run high high 13's. My 93 with just headers and intake would beat a 98 C5 in the 1/8th in the end he'd catch up though.
But have a friend with a 01 C5 A4 and just an intake and runs 13.01's with the non performance axle rear.
