Default Mecham flush mount wing

Does anyone have one of these on their convertible? There's a red T/A vert on the Mecham site with one on it and it looks pretty good, not enough pics to make a decision though.

it really look like you stuck something on top of your rear deck lid..., i think it might look ok if you had it molded in, but as far as the wing itself..for me personally, i dont like it..but here one pic i have.[IMG]

I don't like that, it doesn't flow with the rest of the car.

I have a few pics that Dennis from Mecham sent to me on my e-mail of a convertible with this wing on it. Both pics are from the rear and it looks pretty good to me. The problem is that I don't know how to post them, I could send them to an e-mail address.

Is the hatch on the Formula the same as the T/A vert? If so I might post this in the appearance section so we can get more opinions.

Dennis was telling me that the wing is bonded with adhesive and some people blend it in where the lines meet so it's all one piece.

Thanks BLACKBIRD, It does look like one piece, I think it looks good. I'm seriously thinking of getting one of those wings on my pewter vert.

Thanks for the pic.

question is why would you want a car that looks like every other T/A????
BORING!!!!

Hold on I already know your next reply ( why did you buy a car if you don't like the way it looks???????)

A. I love the way a trans am looks but they just as every car can inproved apon.

and you already have the best rear wing.
Us verts don't have that option.

and if you think the mecham looks bad then you must hate all formula hatches??
because the mecham wing is just a bigger bolder version.

but thats just my opinion.

I guess I'm missing something here. It looked to me like BLACKBIRDS Mecham wing was blended very nicely where the seam would be. Looks like one piece to me. Hell I thought it looked better then no wing. It's not like some bolt on ricer mod. I think it adds to the car myself.

It's also looking like an expensive mod, getting it blended with the existing hatch and painted could be close to a grand including the price of the wing. I could bond it on there myself and blend it but I would still have to get it painted.

I'm sure it is exspensive? I wouldn't know me and a friend did it

He's a painter at a local body shop, he painted my car molded the wing in and fixed my hood for $1000
I gave him $500 for a tip so $1500 total plus the wing is $400

I will tell you this the does not just slip on and blend in!!! We had to cut it in three spots to get it to fit right and then refiberglass the lid a very big pain in the but.
But I think it turned out good.

you have to take them out and take them apart they are a pain
and mine flexed to much and takes to people to put them on not fun at all.
So I plastic welded mine together and then braced them on the inside so it's one solid unit.

really they if you think its going to rain don't even attempt it because when you take them apart they still can't fit in your trunk or back seat.

Sorry if you thought I was jumping on you!
I'm just sick of all the ( IF IT"S NOT STOCK LOOKING IT SUCKS PEOPLE ON THIS BOARD).
your car is a beaut
