Huge loss on bass. Sometimes during the summer when its hot my sub amp will overheat so then there is a tremendous loss.

my polks are in stock locations, and my solo is built in. my amps are located just behind the top with a home made amp rack with pass threw ports to move the sound into the car (like the "X" isnt loud enough to get there, lol )with two 3" fans blowing in them at all times. oh, and the amp for the polks is under the back pass seat(cut out the bottom of the seat and framed it back in , looks 100% stock till you lift seat) thats why i got the square sub, it fits nice in back without taking space away from top of the trunk. its a nice flush fit with the top of the well. any round speaker that hits that hard and that size would call for more air space.

oh, and i still do lose sound when the top goes down, lol

heres what i came up with... custom designed my own enclosure, and moved my amp and subs to it... i fold the back seat down and it fits directly on top. i designed it with a place for the amp also, and it flows well with the lines of the car when the top is down:

tried it out yesterday, finally good music and bass with the top down! mission completed!

That is awesome!! I would be interested in doing something like that with my 99 WS6. Would you be willing to share your construction plans?

well, i basically designed the whole thing at home with measuring tape and a bit of creativity, and took the design to a shop to get it made out of wood. covered it in black cloth and had my audio shop install the speakers and stuff in it... im not sure where i put the original design of it with the measurements and stuff, ill try to find it and let you know
