Question Help...Rear window stitching falling apart!

Help! The stitching around my rear window is falling apart and the rolled hemlines are flipping up!

Any experience out there?: Is it just a slow and careful hand stitching job? What kind of thread or needle or technique to use...?

I think an upholstery shop might be expensive...Thanks for any help!

Is it possible to use contact cement and just glue the hemline down?

You could but it might look a little trashy if you mess up. Restitched would be the way to go, even though thread doesnt last forever..its much cleaner.

Thanks. Yeah stitching would be safer, but maybe both.

Any advice on type of thread or needle or...would be cool. I am looking forward to spending a whole day on about 1000 little stitches!

I have the same problem with the 98 vert I bought .... but mine has some of top and mostly all of the bottom of the glass falling ..... so the way to go is stitching and no glue at all? I'll do it in a shop but thought they'll stitch and glue ..... it may sound stupid but it'll be while the top is on the car or they'll have to remove the top and re-install it?

Oh man they better do it with the top on...I'm not taking mine off!
Hope so...

If you have a choice do glue and stitching. I am.
