Default 99: Low oil pressure

Yesterday, i was driving my vette and after it was fully warmed up at idle the oil pressure dropped to 24 psi, then down to 22 psi then stayed at 24 psi, and when giving it some gas it only went up to about 36-38 psi. Lately ive noticed the pressure at idle has been going down over the past couple of weeks, it slowy worked itself down. It was about 36 degrees F, outside and the temp was at like 210 maybe a little bit higher. I noticed it normally idles between 30 and 36 psi, ive never seen it this low. Should i be worried? , and if i should does anyone have any ideas on what is causing this? BTW i run mobil 1 10w -30, and a mobil 1 filter, i usually use a wix , but i ran out and the oil change was done about 2 months ago by myself, and theres only about 900 miles on that oil change. Its a 1999, automatic convert thats 100% stock.

Could be a bad sending unit. Those are known to crap out frequently.

should i be worried about a bad sending unit, like can that cause the pressure to drop too low and harm the motor?

When the sending goes, it will read 0 or 210 psi. It will not report low. I would say that is pump is most likely starting to go. After all it is almost 9 to 10 years old.

Different oil filters can cause different oil pressures. My mother's stock '99 vert sees high 20s at idle when fully warm. Car does fine.

I agree. My friends unit just started messing up too. It was reading 80psi on the gauge and 129 on the digital display. Different oil brands are very unlikely to cause such fluxuation. I believe the unit is not too expensive and its located behind the intake manifold by the block... if my memory serves me well.
