Default car progress

For those of you that don't know, i bought a nice package from speed inc. its well on its way to being done. :-) here are some pix for those of you that have been curious.

this is after cleaning the engine bay up a little bit.

accessories and what not pulled off

heads and intake off

inside the cylinder. they are smooth as ****!

underside of the car

shifter and what-not out

new LS2 flywheel

clutch in

old clutch/flywheel/pressure plate (can you tell i drive it hard?)

LS7 clutch on the left. Stock on the right.

rear coming down

rear on the ground

rear end on the ground. DTE Brace installed

new heads and headers in place (not bolted in)

i'm just waiting on a couple miscellaneous things and the car will be done. :-) can't wait to get the PCM back from Speed Inc (mail order tune. it is their SI5 cam. figured they'd know how to tune it best) and get this thing started!

looks like it is coming along really good.
How was it to drop the rear and the torque tube from the vette? Pretty straight forward?
Looking to do a clutch, heads, and hardened output shafts eventually on my vette.

everything went smoothly except getting the bellhousing off. the clutch wouldn't go in through that opening.

It wasnt that bad just make sure you have it up high enough and have a good trans jack strong enough for the trans /diff and torque tube to come out... It was my first on a c5 so it looked pretty scary could have done it in an afternoon but i ended up doing heads /cam install along with it..

The dowel pins on the LS2 flywheel? I guess that makes sense. It was why the disc and plate wouldn't go up. I'll keep that in mind. Those bellhousing bolts made my top 5 list of PITFA bolts to get to. Right along with the Trans dipstick tube bolt on the back of pass. head (F-body).

Nice. My setup is almost the same, except no Fast intake and slightly smaller cam. A lot better than stock.

Did you drive around without mufflers? Sounds great but makes your ears ring after a while.
