Ls3 a little underrated
Congrats on beating a crappy driver in a Viper.

Line up a LS3 and a pre 08 viper yeah it'll be close
the 08 and newer vipers have some ***** that will embarrass most stock C6 Z06s
It just comfirms that this encounter was a drivers race and due to a "limp wristed" driver the race was close, since less skill is involved when roll speeding (not really racing) the outcome of the viper winning is to be expected.
Very cool that your bro and a viper were having some fun and hotroding their cars but i wouldn't hang your hat on beating up new vipers...

And the track results are in.....
the Viper managed to scrape off an 11.9@123 I believe, and the C6 an impressive 12.2@117. Only problem was the Viper always slept at the tree, so the C6 took the stripe every time. Here are the pics!

The Best V8 Stories One Small Block at Time
You beat the driver, not the car.
Jamie can flat out drive !!!
The C6 Z06 vs. the 600 hp. 08's & newer Vipers, it comes down to the driver.Still waiting to get one of the new ACR Viper's on a road course... will see how it compares to the C6 Z06.
This is probably what you'd need to compete with an ACR Viper:

That would do it... LG knows "track cars" !!!
Stock Z06's (both C-5's & C6's) do need a little track preparation...Corner balance & then an alignment
2 piece rotors and racing brake pads
cooling ducts for front rotors
An extra set of rims and dot "R" tires
Having instructed with Viper Days since 2001...
that should enable an experienced jockey driving a C6 Z06 to be competitive.

I haven't driven the new ACR... but from hands-on experience with earlier Vipers...The Z06 Vettes and the C6 with the LS3/Z51 suspension are much easier to drive fast @ the track.
The Vettes are more forgiving in the twisties with competitive mode/active handling engaged... but still a difficult car (very powerful) for a beginner.
The Mighty Dodge Viper is a beast that when driven by an experienced pilot...
is very quick.
No electronic gizmo's available in the Viper...
to save your A$$ when you get frisky with the throttle...
makes it a tough car for a newbe to learn in on a road course.

Put some different tires on your Z and watch it wake up real quick. The runflats don't hook very well. With 0-60 in first gear and with a Z06 putting more power to the ground stock than the LS3 has at the flywheel, it must be tire spin that is skewing your perception.
