?'s On C5Z Alignment....
About 2 weeks ago i noticed a slight grinding noise going into 4th gear. I cant stand knowing something is wrong with my vechiles so i took the Z06 to get the Tranny rebuilt. After 119k miles i figured it would need new bearing and syncros. so now the tranny is done and it shifts great but 50 miles or so after the t56 reinstall i start to notice a terrible rattle from the rear and once the car warms up there seems to be a funny smell. So i check it out, and my exhaust pipe is about ready to come off of the xpipe on the right side due to the tranny shop not getting the bolts tight!!! then i notice the smell is coming from grease all over the B&B bullet catback.
So i hall ***** back to the Tranny shop and tell them we have a problem and need to get my car on the hoist NOW!!! We lift it up and sure as **** the exhaust pipe to xpipe bolts are only about finger tight and the grease is coming from the CV boot being torn open by the Steel ABS lines. Now grease is sprayed everywhere underneath and the Tranny Rebuilder has offered to reinstall a new cv boot. (i wonder what else is Loose)
The main question i have about alignment, is the tranny shop wants to pull the wheel, CV shaft, A arm, and Shock off of the rear to install the new boot. after this install wouldnt it require a reAlignment of the car????
What I did with my car when getting my car aligned was have the caster set at 0 degrees instead of the -2 degrees the factory setting is at. The car hooked better and the contact patch was a lot better. The car maybe at it limits didn't handle has good but then again I never pushed it that far.
