Back to the FRC after 10 years
I use to own a C5 FRC back in 1999 when they came out. I got it right out of college and loved it, but there were very few mods for it at the time. My wife was kicking my but at the track with here supercharged Z and was pissing me off. I later traded it in for a Tahoe so we could have a family….. you know the story. I bought another f-body, moded it and kicked her butt on a weekly basis.
Well now we are both ready to play again and I am going to give her my 10 sec Z and get my baby back. It is a 1999 FRC with no mods. I have a 383, 590 crank HP in my garage ready to go in. I am going to put a smaller cam in it (reduce HP and improve drivability), good exhaust, good fuel system, and enjoy driving it.
Before I lose everyone’s attention, I know I will need to update the clutch, but how about the rear area? The f-body rears were fragile as potato chips and I need to know something about the vetts. I did a search and found mixed opinions. I will not have anything on the rear wheels better them a set of MT DRs.
Thanks for your help
If you don't launch the car and just roll into the throttle you should be okay for awhile.
