Question on 1st gen Vararam

Question on 1st gen Vararam Hey guys a friend of mine has a almost new 1st gen Vararam he's willing to sell me for 100 bucks. Question is, is this worth it? I know I can get the cotton filter but how much better is the sealing on the current VRB2 ? Am I gonna get the don't even bother, and just pay for the VRB2 comments or could I make the 1st gen work fine, if I have air leaks?? Please chime in everyone whos in the know!!

Hi, yeah so do you have the K & N filter or the original foam one still. Did you have to add extra foam for sealing around the filter area? Im leaning toward buying my friends right now, then just getting the K & N filter for it. He said his threw a code when installed on his 04 CE Z06 but it didnt leak. Only had it on for a month, then he went to a STS TT kit.

I had the original foam in there for a long time and have a replacement foam that I got from a friend who took his off since Vararam no longer sells them.
I also have a K&N but only had it in there a week before getting the new foam. I did not get to drive on it much so see if there was any extra filling needed.
