Just wondering what oil pressure you FI guys are seeing?
I have only had my car for 2 weeks now and only have had 3 days to drive it. The first 2 days it was cool (50's) and she stayed at around 40psi
Today it was in the 80's (yuck) and she started out in the 40's but once she started getting hot it went down to 35 and at the end of the drive 30psi
Just wondering if this seems normal? My paxton ISN'T self contained, if that makes a major difference or not.
I'm not sure what the last guy ran for oil, but I'll probably throw in Mobil 1 10W30?
Maybe 6.5 quarts, a little extra to help dispurse the heat some?

i autoX the heck out of my car, and oil pressure has been an issue on a few of the rebuilds. i've read that these motors are OK with as little as 10 lbs. and your car having higher pressure when its cold, and dropping some after the oil is nice and hot is normal. after 2 motors and a dozen tear downs, i am running an aftermarket high pressure pump. even it starts out a little high and drops a good 10-20 lbs during a race day. the key thing is to monitor your oil temp on the DIC. if its always climbing past 220-230 under normal conditions, it might be worth installing an external cooler

My ported c5 zo6 oil pump provides my 402 with 55 to 56 psi at cold start and and then when the oil reaches full temp it holds 40 psi at idle. This is 15w50 oil per LGM's orders and I do have a built in oil cooler (in the radiator). My temps rarely get beyond 190, but on the 80+ degree day we had recently I took her out on the eway and played around a bit and she got up to 199 or was it 200. I wasn't beating on her, just cruising at 80 or so. I am sure if I push the motor the temp will climb, but the cooler works man.
