Default Another Cam opinion post

Alrite, I know we are all tired of seeing "what cam posts" but I do need some of your guys opinions. I have a stock bottom end Z06 with full stainless exhaust and vararam intake with short throw. My last project was a cammed trans am then later added turbo. My concern with this car is I dont want the thing to be stalling like my other one did. Like when i would brake pretty quick it would want to stall out and die. I was looking at an MS4 cam because I want some good power but I dont know about driveability issues. I do drive it about 30min each way to work as well in Tampa traffic. Do you guys think that it is too big of a cam and need to downsize or will a good tune clean it up. I'm open to all suggestions.

That cam will alright with a good tuner, a set of gears would help too with powerband and driveablity since it will be lazy in the lower rpms.

Why not consider a smaller cam? Ryan L made 430/400 with a 224/230 on XFI lobes on this 03 ZO6.

Got a ms4 cam in my car and I love it. Got a really good tuner to do mine. You will use 5th gear a little more but other than that it drives great. I use 5th if cruising between 50-60mph, after that I use 6th. I have the stock gears in mine and really like them. I get about 30mpg on the expressway still. Pulls hard from 4500rpms all the way to 7000rpms!!!

dyno numbers don't mean anything, take it to the track and see what mph you get out of it. That is the true test of the power.

If you want to know my car put down 438rwhp and 386rwtq on a mustang dyno. I still have stock heads and with a ported Fast 90 and Ls2 tb. The heads are holding me back a little but all it takes is money.
