Default 99 frc

So ive came to a conclusion when i get my vette im getting a 99 FRC because they are lighter, all came with black interior and they are all 6spds. but i have a question to anybody that knows. since it was made to be "cheaper" and for racing/autocross, did they come with the uv6 Heads up display option? and were they all z51

i dont know the exact numbers. but they are hit or miss on which ones came with it.
theres a guy on corvette forums selling a 'kit' on the upgrade.
cut a template in your dash. install the unit, and hook it up to the board.

i think the main cost is that on some cars you'd need a different control board or something, and thats like 250$ more? i think? sorry not of more help.

and yes i believe they are all z51.

oh, my 99frc doesnt have heads up . my dads z does and its awesome.
i wouldnt let it hold you back on a sale of a vehicle though, since it is possible to mod it to one with, just with a little $ and several hrs.

nah thats not going to make me not want one. i want a 99 frc. i like the looks of em a lot. ive seen people just buy the dash pad for HUD and put it in themselves. so ill probably do that if i cant find one with it. its not gonna be a big loss if it doesnt have it. its just a cool feature lol

All Z51 so no worries there either.

I love my '99 FRC.

Pretty sure you couldn't get the HUD in 99. You also couldn't get mirrors on the visors or passenger climate control. Those things were made available on the 00 FRC.

you could get the HUD in 2000 but not 99 if I am not mistaken. I have a 99 Targa and I have it, but my friend has a 99 black FRC and he does not have it. I have seen it on the 2000 FRC's though.

All FRCs came with the Z51 suspension.

As the FRC was introduced, the HUD was not an option. It was added to the order sheet early in 1999 (around Feb/Mar I believe) but most of them were still delivered with out the option as it was not too popular. (cant imagine why)

Best of success with your search for an FRC. They are truly awsume cars. And as has been posted above, retrofitting HUD into the car is not much of a hard project.

I've got a 2000 FRC and I love mine. Has the z51 pkg, active handling option, and kicks *** now that I've got her the way I want her (see sig). Vengeance Racing kicks ***.

Good point John !!!

I'd have loved to have waited and got an 02 zo6 but the insurance difference is rediculous. I'm making over 600 hp at the flywheel and paying the same insurance as if it were stock.

I'm really liking my '99 FRC. It had a few problems when I first got it but it's all worked out now.

It's got 85,500 miles on it. No HUD, no Active Handling.

You may want to look for a C5Z. I don't know about where you live, but down south the FRC are bringing good money. 2001 C5Z are sometimes less than a FRC. C5Z have a lot more benfits than FRC.

My sister in laws 2000 FRC had HUD.

So far as the insurance, there is not much different from a FRC to C5Z. I am with State Farm.

The shorter gearing in the Zo6 transmission is really nice. Much more aggressive than a regular M6

'01 Zo6 prices are not bad here in Atlanta.. lots of benefits, plus you can always say you own a Zo6.
