Thinking about a Z06
but the good thing is it opened up some more room for a nicer car. Dealer says they will give me $10,500 for my car as a trade in on a torch red 2001 Z06 with 41,000 miles. Car is listed at $20,995. Just wondering if it is a reasonable deal, anything I should look for/at on it,any notorious problems or noises C5 Z06s have. Any input would be greatly appreciated!

Tires might look fine on the outer edge but may be bald on the inside. Also check the tire date. I wouldn't buy it if the tires were over 5 years old. Check the doors lock/unlock using the FOB AND the door control. Also check windows up and down. The modules in the doors are known for going out. Sometimes you can solder a new $5 relay and you're good to go. Turn key, hold down options button and press FUEL button 4 times. Computer should go into diagnostics mode you can press the various buttons to go up/down and see what codes the computer has set "C" - current, "H" - history. Google C5 Corvette DIC and read up on it. Write down the codes and check them or print a list of the codes off and take with you. See if anything looks unusual.
Good luck...
