Default G5x3 (114) c5 z06

Anyone else running this cam or had any experience with this cam. I just bought an 02 Z06 with this cam and TEA heads with Kooks Longs tubes. It sure does have the shakes at idle which is ok. I was surprized though that it does lope as much as it does on a 114.. What kind of rwhp/tq should I have ? Seems to be a strong runner.

A wild guess would be around 430/400

I had that cam with kooks l/t and afr heads and fast 90 and it made 462 to the tires.

my buddy has that exact same cam and his is 02Z as well. He has Afr's205's and he made 455rwhp.

I had it in my 2000 FRC cam only she put down 400/380, added afr 205 heads, ewp, ud pully and she jumped to 457/417. This was through a 78 mm FAST as well.

I liked how it drove, decent low end tq, and great high rpm hp as well.

Can you tell us anything about the TEA heads ? What stg, milling, intake runner CC's?

My Bro, has this cam in his 2001 Z06. On a Dyno-Pak it made 390 RWHP and about the same torque.

Stock 243 heads w/ springs, Halltech Stinger, LPE Headers, Ti Exhaust and tune by ECS.

Personally, I can't stand that cam for a street car. The car idles horribly and surges a bit in the low RPM levels.

It's a great cam for the track but not a daily driver in my opinion.

Nice cam, but there is no beating a cam that is matched to your heads. I drove the g5x3 for 2+ years without issue, and I loved it. Drove well, and made good power. I have to say though, once I went custom I'll never use an off the shelf cam again.

I have no problems with idle. The car was tuned very well. Im waiting on the receipts for the heads that should tell me more about them. They have manley race valves installed in them thats all I know right now. I really like this cam in this car it pulls hard in all the gears and has good street manners with the ac running to boot.

I was told the heads were the latest design. Stage 2 pretty sure.. I got the receipts showing eastcoast supercharging did the work. G5x3 cam kit,921 springs,etc.
underdrive pully,ported oil pump and ported throttle body.

Moondar, I have the same exhaust setup on my C5 with 224/228 114 LSA cam and it sounds almost identical. I have Ti's on the way because it's too loud for me. Sounds nasty though! I made 395/380 cam only on my LS1 motor.

what was your heads milled to, gasket, and PTV numbers

my buddy did this with his 01 z06, made 465/410 at the wheels with the usual bolt ons and 1 7/8 headers
