hey man... alot of guys do a full exhaust and a cam which gives them around 420-440 depending how big you go with the cam. You can do headers and x with a Corsa sport exhaust. Then do a nice ported intake manifold ported tb and intake with a medium size cam..that would be about 425 rwhp

werd.....but I wouldn't waste the money on a stock ported LS2 intake. Maybe fnd a used FAST 90, or if he can swing it, a fast 92.

On full exhaust LS2 cars, no motor work, we'd make around 400 wheel,..give or take 10hp. The camshaft, is gonna realy depend on him, and what he can live with. I have driven street cars with the most radical cams,. personally, I have never ran across a camshaft to me that was TOO BIG, or unstreetable. When he changes the cam, get good springs retainers, pushrods, and a good timing chain.

He can make between 420-480-500rwhp depending on how radical he's feeling.

Note>if he goes TOO radical, he may need a gear selection. So,... if he doesn't wanna do that,... keep it in the 230's and in the 600's.... a good cam we used in the past that has worked well is a 233/237 .649/.598 -112 and the car worked, and sounded awesome at idle. Here is an idle clip...with long tubes, and B&B bullets.

i made 370 stock ....i think with just headers and a tune i would be making 400

here is a list i think should get him to 430 without a cam

headers
intake (formato stage 2 made 17 rwhp on a ls2 for under 400 bucks)
UD pulley
CIA
cat back
ported TB
royal purple oils (hey they help)

this will get you 420-430 with a good tune pretty easy

450-500 cam and retune

on a side note id get the ported ls2 from formato and spend the money he was goin to on the fast on lifters and springs and rev her a little higher maybe to 6800 or 7000

Tell him to do a 224/228 cam with a set of Texas Speed headers/x pipe. With the money he saves on the exhaust going with the Texas speed he can do a ported intake/tb setup and tune. While he is doing the cam, some thinner head gaskets will bump of the compression and give him another 7-10rwp and about 15/ftlbs of torque. With that combo he will make 450rwhp and his car will run real strong, yet the drivability will still be nice.
