You show me a C6 coupe or vert that weighs 3180. My blue Z06 weighed in at 3080Lbs. And my Yellow one I just weighed on Friday; it came in at 3070. Both cars had 1/2 tank of fuel when weighed. I also had my cleaning supplies and a folding chair in the trunk. LOL

i dont see how the hell u did 12.2 in a stock auto ls2 c6. do u have the z51 package? or the run flats?

last time i put my car (its a 1LT auto) on the scales it was 3125 but i had about 1/8th of a tank and my skinnes so add 50 lbs for the skinnes. the only other thing i can think of that would make it less is the long tube headers but i do have wider fenders, cargo mat,and heavier than stock aftermarket hood. so my car weighs in the neighborhood of 3200 lbs in street form.

Fenders and hood cannot be that much more over stock weight. You might gain 10Lbs at the most since most aftermarket parts weigh less than stock due to lack of bracing and different materials used. Gas weighs 6Lbs per gallon. And a cargo mat? LOL

All in all, I'd bet in stock form with 1/2 tank of gas, you're looking at at least 3250.

Either way, looking at it from 3200 to 3070, that's a difference of 23RWHP already. Then you take into consideration stock gearing. My car is geared like an M6 with 3.90s since I have an M12. 1st gear you'd have me out of the hole, but after that the M12 is going to carry the weight further.

You can bench race all day long with what looks right on paper. But the fact still remains that stock for stock, the LS3s are really the competition for the LS6s.

yea i agree they dont weigh that much more but i was just letting it be known that i didn't lose any weight for the fenders and i do believe that the hood does weigh more than the stock. And the cargo mat i just figured i would throw that in there haha.

i would agree that would be pretty close for the 1LT model like i have.

so i told you what my car weighed. i don't really care which is faster because im stuck with mine for a while haha but some day i do plan on getting me another C5 Z because i really liked my old one.

At some point, I'd like to drop a dry-sumped LS3 into my C5Z with a hot cam. I think with the mods I have and a hot-cammed LS3 and dry sump, I should make at least 450RWHP and have everything still be incredibly reliable.

Just need to save up $10K LOL.

Default C5 Z 03-04 takes C6 base vette

I am with you...I live in STL and have heard so many stock 01-02 F bodys running 12.80-.90@105-106mph stock but never seen it and I own a 01 WS6 that ran 13.18@102mph with LID,filter,catback and I was beating all the other catback F bodys by 2-3 tenths on their good runs. I now have LT's, ORY, free mods(thats only mods for power)NO tune yet, built my T56, installed LS7 clutch,pro 5.0 shifter and that is everything. It is only a 01 WS6 with full exhaust but I picked up 6 tenths and 10mph on street tires and no tune and ran best of 12.49@112mph. It seems fast compaired to 2 of my friends one is 98 Z28 FULL bolton, gears and susp, tune etc and ran 13.90@98mph stock and now runs 12.89@109mph(auto). Other friend has 00 SS M6 stock ran 13.80@101mph. Catback,lid,DR's he's at 13.50@103mph. The friend with the 98 Z28 sold it and my other friend is frusterated also. I know 1 other 01-02 F body at the track and SHE runs 12.80s@106mph with auto,LID,DR's. The 01-02 F bodys do have an advantage, but point being is GM got the formulas confused from 98-04 or something...01-02 Z06 vette ran 12.60-12.80s with 385hp. 03-04 Z06 ran 12.20-12.30s and just 20hp more??? How did the 325HP 01-02 WS6 put 310rwhp down and run 13.2 average?..The 03-04 Z06 ran 1 sec faster with 405hp and put down 370rwhp(makes sense) but why does the 2010SS and C6 base vette rate at 420hp apprx. and both put down around 350rwhp?...hmmm thats why a 01-02 F body with headers/tune is right there or beating C6 vette...Most C6s run 12.60-12.80s, It takes some F bodys full bolton/suspension,gears etc to run that, but some run that with only headers and driver mod...I got no respect for C6 base vette since I walk all over my neighbors 08 everytime he gets a 1k dollar SSteel catback, cold air, whatever....maybe he just needs to drive...anyway I can tell you that theres no sense in arguing with a C6 Z06 because even the ZR1 only gets it by .2 tenths in 1/4 mile with 100 more hp and 1 out of the 1 I seen race blew a piston.....to all a good night and too all a happy economy....SH&%

2001 Z06's have 385hp while the 02-04 Z06's have 405hp. Also the Zr1 corvette is not geared for the 1/4 mile, it is geared more for top end speed. My buddy with a stock 03z06 outran a Z51 LS2 6 speed manual and a LS2 paddle shift A6. He said they got him out of the whole by a half car but at the end of second they were at his back bumper, end of third a car back. In the end it doesn't matter what year you get, it is still a vette and is fast. btw I sold my C5Z to get a C6Z, no base vette for me.

This is more realistic from my vette and what I have seen at the track from a lot of other stock an near stock ls2 ( no drag radials or a tune to defeat the TM system ) my vette didn't run as expected till I had it tuned...and removed the TM and traction control bullshit

just to throw it out ther my stock ls2 c6 vette made 377 to the tire..on the low end thats 433 engine on the high end its 444 (depends on conversion %)

I have a c5z06 also they are pretty close in weight i am 100% sure ther are stock ls2's that can run mid to low 12's no mods...my bone stock c5 zo6 ran 12.4's easy no mods (taking it easy on the tranny on stock tires) it dyno'd 368 stock

I have the base tires, not Z51. But for the record, both the base and Z51 packages come with run flat tires, the differences are in the tread design and rubber compound.

Correct. Only the Z06 and ZR1 come with non-runflats.

listen,no offense to the f body's but any C6 is a big step up.my M6 C6 ran a 12.6 @ 113 bone stock..my car with bolt ons only put down right at 400 rwhp and over 450 rwhp with bolt ons and cam...the car weighs 32xx lbs and i have full leather interior,stock rims and tires etc.....and they look sick! cant beat it,get the C6 FOR SURE..STB

oh and to the C5Z guys,stock to stock a C5Z will be neck in neck with a C6 coupe,however the C6 coupe with a cam will DESTROY a C5Z with the same cam....C5's are cool but the C6 rules..STB

Bolt-ons only get the ls6. If your going heads cam and all that go ls2. As for me the "newness" of the c6 has worn off and while i still love the c6 i would rather have a c5z over a base c6 ls2 car...From what i hear the c5z has a stronger differential stronger axles and is more of a "race ready" car. All the ls6 is a factory moded ls1...For example put your own h/c/i package on an ls1 and an ls6....Your pretty much going to make the same power...Just my thoughts

C6Z06's come with goodyear runflats and the ZR-1 comes with michelin runflats, zero pressure-ZP's. The C5Z came with goodyear f1 non runflats.

Maybe will beat a C5Z but not destroy. A ls3 for sure but not a Ls2 considering stock a C5Z will beat a stock Ls2, base to Z51. Sorry but have seen tons of video's and what my buddy did to two c6's. I am not a big fan of the base C6's or c5's. I love the Z06's tho. In the end we all buy what we want and enjoy it.

i dont know what videos u saw but i do know that i have walked a few C5Z's with cam and bolt ons and walked em pretty hard..either way your right because in the end we all buy what we want and to each his own..STB
