Looks nice, if I had to hit wider wheels I'd go the minitub route. Not a fan of fender flares or making the car less aerodynamic.

Well, I like the look of the flares on the C6 Z, but on the C5 I will agree that they aren't always pulled off well.

Man, winter sucks, lol. I just want to drive!

you think you have it bad? i cant hook until 3rd from a dig with my firehawk tires and im stock besides a dual cone intake and being lowered

Instead of ordering some LT's, i think imma opt for some nitto 555R's...

got that but, its only to help eliminate breakage by clamping and preload... to prevent the twisting effect,... won't aide traction but,...something like this is a good recomendation if your sticking with a c5 trans/diff config.

The Nitto NT05Rs is what you need this tire hooks really well. I have got better 60" out of these than I did with MT DR!

What size NT05R's did you try ?? Did you step back to the 17's or run the 285-18's. IMHO theres not really a good choice for us C5 guys. And if we could see a pic, I wanted to see how much side wall that looks like on the car.

How are they on the street ?? High speed stability, hooking with a little heat in them (on the street) ?? And how in the hell did you fit a 12.6W X 28.06T tire under that ?? Like I said I'd love to see pictures with all that rubber, gotta look sexy as hell !!

Yeah had to cut some things here and there lol. And it hooks great on the street when it's not cold like it is now.

you were cutting 1.62's on the NT05's?

thats not bad... im trying to find some tires to plant my power to the ground and suffice on a random trip to the drag strip.

i cant decide if i want to go with a D.O.T. drag radial (MT ET Street II's) or try the NT05's....

im a little concerned about the sidewalls and how it will effect daily driving in my C5 thru the corners.

Not NT-05's that a DOT street tire. He's running NT-05R's, as in drag radials. The NT-05 is a 200 wear rating and the NT-05R is 0.

i feel like a broken record over here. The Toyo, RA1....is the best tire your going to find that is a serious cross breed between drag radial and unlimited speed rated, cornering capable tire, all in one. if you thought a drag radial tire sucked at high speeds in your stock suspension Corvette....try them in a vette with coilovers,...its like death, just waiting to happen. I've never seen another tire that's worked so well on the street...plus It's a proven race approved, used tire. plenty of life on them too.

RA1s are likely the next set I buy. I have T1Rs now, and I have been pretty pleased with them even though they don't grip nearly as well as the competition tires.

I've heard rumor's of the RA1's being phased out. Something about the R888's taking the place. Do you guys know if there's any truth to this ??

I doubt that. The R888s have been around longer than the RA1s. The RA1s are relatively new in comparison to the R888s.
