Hey I just picked up a 99 vette myself! I plan on getting TSP long tubes and a torquer V2 cam. I cant believe how crappy the seats and stock shifter are. Pretty embarrassing for a 50k car new. Still a much better car than an Fbody though.
Some other really important and relatively cheap drivetrain mods you should do immediately is an ECS brace and a C6 Z06 Driver Side output shaft. You can pick up the shaft with this item code.

An ECS brace helps eliminate wheel hop, the mortal enemy of a Corvette drivetrain. Wheel hop grenades the differential, shafts and other powertrain stuff.
