Default crank pulley problems

i have a 98 c5 and the pulley is now very close the the steering rack and not in line with the other accesories. what would cause this ? and how do i fix it?

First thing i would check, is to see if the crank bolt is still in there and hasn't completely backed out and had its own road trip if now what i mean.

yes the bolt is still there.

what caught my attention is that the ac stopped working and i cheaked under the hood to find that the ac belt came off. because of the pulley not lined up

Your balancer has failed. The rubber isolator sounds as if it let go and allowed the outer ring portion to walk forward. This is not good. Time for an underdrive pulley

Change mind a few times ...........a real pain but I did it myself the last time and so for no problems......

Its easy, remove rack and pinion, remove pulley and install new U/D pulley ( everyone likes extra HP), Install new bolt, reinstall rack and pinion. If youve never done it before.... DONT!!! LOL.
