Some insurance companies may differ with how they calculate risk, but if your credit isn't so hot it might be the reason you pay a lot.

I pay 1200/year for full coverage on '02 SS and my '08 SRT8. The value on replacement of the Camaro is actual value including mods. I just have to keep receipts and pics of car.

Very good to know. I think my credit is pretty alright last time I checked. Trying to keep it that way cause this year I am trying to buy a house, my first house. i am pretty sure my record is what the deal is. I'll make a call on what i am gonna do tomorrow I think.

Thanks for the heads up man.

Location plays into insurance cost as well. There is one agreed value policy that has a rider for taking the car to work once in a while, I know it wasn't Hagerty. Think it was either Grundy or Classic Car.

I spoke to a friend who owns a body shop about insurance, he told me the two that give the least hastle when you need them for repairs are Amica and Peerless (part of Liberty Mutual), the worst were Progressive and Geico. He told me Progressive fights with him all the time to use cheap or used parts and he would never use them for his Vette (he has a number of cars).

I plan to switch my driver's to Amica this year and my Vette to an agreed value policy that isn't too limiting on driving.

^^^ This.

My brother and I recently moved east, and when I told my agent where I moved to, he sounded scared. My rate for BASIC coverage would have gone up by about $30/mo just based on the fact that I now lived East of 441.
I told him I was kidding and left my old address

My brother didn't realize it was an issue, changed his address online, and got a $40 higher bill the following month...

I checked last night and found Leland West to be reasonable and you can get a rider to drive the car to work occasionally. You can also choose the annual mileage limits so there is some flexibility in the coverage. They also came out much less than Hagerty, nearly 40% less for me.
