Default GTO spares

Will a GTO spare clear the rear brakes of a C5? I'm going to be picking up my vette here in a little bit and want something to have just in case I get a flat.

Yes but NEVER EVER EVER EVER put a spare on the rear of a vette because as soon as you make a turn your gonna blow your diff.... Never mismatch tire width on the rear of any posi car EVER!!!!

So basically just to play it safe ill need a "spare" full size tire for this road trip. I have 18x11.5 on there so even a 18x10.5 just for this trip would still be a nogo?

Its not how wide the tire/wheel combo is its how tall it is

I have to disagree, the width does not matter. The overall diameter has to be the same. If you take two tires that are the same height but one is not as wide it will still rotate at the same rate, thus no damage to the diff.
