98 or the 99
I'm looking at 2 different c5 vettes, a 98 and a 99. the 98 has about 5000 miles less, and cost $2000 less than the 99.
is there any huge reasons not to go with the 98? both look to be in about the same shape with about the same things done to them. (CAI, exhaust, Short throw shifter)
one reason for me to go with the 99 is that I have a 99 LS1 in my 72 Nova, so at least the engine and computer would have a lot of interchangeable parts if I ever needed to swap parts in a trial and error situation.
thanks for your opinions!

The 99 has a better ECM than the 98, the 98 could have rear ABS which is a pain to work around. It is easy to tell if it does. Just look under the rear of the car. If there is an ABS block behind the differental than its a rear ABS car. If not, it isn't
Other than that there isn't any huge differences.

If you get the 98, and do a heads swap you will have to get different valve covers. Can't remember right now but, 97-98 is either center or perimeter bolt pattern. And the 99+ are the other way around. I'd say get the 98. It's cheaper has less miles on it. I wasn't looking to get a 98 when I bought mine. But, it had way less miles than all the other ones I was looking at and was listed at or below those ones as well.
