new DRs

I am about to come home from Afghanistan, in a few weeks. I bought a set of Nitto NTO5-Rs (305/45/18 on stock rims) for my 02 z06, so I can drive when i go on block leave. My grandfather got the tires mounted the other day and he said that the wheels hit the front of the wheel well, on the air ducts for the brakes. What can I do to fix this? Can I move the diff back to give the tire room?

Loose the brake ducting. Not a big deal if you're putting drag tires on it anyways. Almost everyone who goes up in tire has to. It takes more time jacking up the car than to remove them.

If I were to go tall on the tire, I'd just put a smaller diameter wheel and throw a slick on there.

You can either pull the ducts out, or add a smaller spacer.

Congratulations on the safe return from Afghan, I did Iraq 3x...

meine96ws6 what branch did you serve with? This is my second one to Afghanistan. They have been cutting them down to 10 months now. I would be sick at my stomach if I had to do 15 like some guys did in Iraq.
