My friend runs a 315/35/17 on his stock C5 Z06 front wheels. Just a little rubbing on the back side of the fender liner. I don't see any problem with your size.

What are you doing with the car? Why do you want to go with a 315 on a 9.5 inch wheel? It won't improve performance over sizing a tire on a wheel like that. Get a better compound tire in the correct size for your wheel to get the best performance. R-compound tires work very well.

We use the car for Autocross. Were in a stock class. You can only change the shocks and one sway bar. Wheel size has to stay stock. We were running 295/35/17 and decided to try 315/35/17. Without back to back runs, I can't say for sure it was faster or slower. Were already running the best tires made for autocross. Hoosiers A6's. Were also going to try 335/30/18 on the rear rims. 18x10.5. I know if we could run wider wheels, that would be better, but I just don't see a downside at this point.
