Artic White FRC #2
Why not go with a 6.0 , bigger blower, and powerglide transmission ? What are your power goals? Cant wait to see the finsihed product... Love white FRC's. I may even snag it from you after you dump all the money into it.LOL.
I have been looking at doing an FRC build.. Big cube, Big blower, with an auto.. Wanna kick some highway ***... I dont understand why vette guys are not thinking powerglide tranny....

Want to make 650 to the tires, make for a fun street car, the upgrades can come later. I am a gear rower, so the 6 speed is staying, plus A GOOD auto swap is $10k done right.
It has been for sale for 8 months and no one was serious, so I am modding it.
Seriously a powerglide swap is more than I paid for the car done right.

...if you wanna kick some highway *** why not a properly spec'd out 6 speed? Are you looking for less gears changed? For a GLIDE/HIGHWAY car..I would think you'd wanna have a turbo or two given the way a centrifugal makes it's boost. My T56 setup, is geared to shift once, to everyone elses twice.
If the power is there... Say anything over 850.. A powerglide is way more efficient. 2 gears. Weighs less than TH400 and doesnt have cooling issues.. Theres a reason LMR uses a powerglide in their Mile CAR.... Yes rowing gears is fun but Im building a car to WIN.... If a car makes 850 or so even from a punch I have $ on the auto car.....
Thats a HALF mile car...don't thin, they used that in the 1 mile race just yet. I understand but,..you don't have to have a 6 speed,....and have 3.42's..... ever think of a 3.08 or a 2.73? Like you said, if you have the power, shouldn't really matter. Two geas is a long stretch for a mile.....better have a RPM loving monster.... Grab a gear calculator and look at some of the modern gear specs for vettes.... change a couple of final drives... look at the mph capabilities.
The fastest corvette to date,...had 2.73's on the salt flats. 1300rwhp. 270mph.
6 speed.

Glad to hear!! Jay
