Ah,.which is better for you? What are you doing with the vehicle? If someone like myself suggested, it would be a manual, all day. Made over 780 wheel, on a stock T56, in a daily driven application. Totally stock T56, other then shifter mods. A clutch would be your concern, that or the differentials.

I don't think you can put a 4L80 in a C5.

80e for alot of racing, T-56 for just street driving or very little racing, but I believe 80e swap will be very expensivr on a C5

A friend of mine is currently building a N/A LT1 for around 650rwhp with a 200 shot and hes using a stock T56. seems to be more worried about the clutch, like V-seriesTech said.

Yeah^ those T-56s can hold some good power before getting into the rebuild idea, replacing the clutch is the most worrying thing really.

If you pick t56 go with a t56 magnum or tr6060. They are stronger and hold power better. Think its the output shaft of the normal t56 is kind of weak and the magnum/tr6060 have bigger/stronger output shafts.

4L80 is the best street strip auto for a GM car period. It is a little expensive to get into a C5 or C6 if you have someone do it because there is a lot of trimming to get it to fit. I prefer and auto and if you have the money a 4L80 would get my vote. Bulletproof. However with 750 rwhp a built 4L60 will hold up and fit with no trans tunnel modification.

Agreed^ a 4l60e can also hold good power on Vettes, but your best bet is a 80e.
