I'll try to answer some questions asked, and then some.....
Yes, it's built by me with everything except the sonnax input drum w/ bolt on 3/4 backing plate. I used (as with all the others) the RPM 30spline output shaft and the billet plate for the late model Z diff. I used a pro-yank 3400 11' convertor for this build (its too much) and I had wired/installed the gen2 tci trans controller in the car LAST year.

All was fine until I tried to datalog using t-com software on a windows 8 notebook....F**...fast forward a few days and the new tci ez tcu arrived and was wired up and all was fine.....except I lost control over some fine tuning capability as well as datalogging via trans controller.

What I needed to do (and may still) is to get the GMPP trans controller that is really the "old" gen2 tci unit rebagged in a blue case instead of red.

In terms of hours, I would say I have 20 hrs in it working solo, with help from friends moving the heavy stuff into place.....no one wrenched but me.
The job was made easier by the use of exhaust pipes sent to me by RPM off of Jerry's car when he went 4l80e. I promise more pics soon...

I expect the car to run 9.50-9.60 right out of the gate, unless the hell-heat gets here b4 I get to the track. I stomped it monday night in 3rd going 75mph for 2 seconds, let off to gently brake and looked at the HUD...132mph just like that. Hardest top-end pulling car I have ever had, this would walk my sprayed LS7 all day long, but we know the spay does not last all day

And the RXTX.....The 1st round of mods are documented with pics on greenhulk.net in a thread titled " the 2011rxtx ecu re-flash and speed" thread. Not turbo yet, but running 16# boost via 2rude and Jerrys' 8800rpm flash. It will suck 16 gal of 93 oct in 35 mins but Jesus Christ it's fast LOL

Several years ago, I knew a friend who raced his 05 GTO with a stock 4L65e transmission and hit high 10 seconds more than once on a 1/4 mile drag strip.

I am not sure what power his LS2 engine was making, but he used nitros and cut off the mufflers and replaced them with straight pipes.

If a 3800 lbs GTO with stock 4L65e tranny ran in the high 10's, you should do 9's with no problem.
