Will a torque converter from a 4L65es work in a 4L60e?

Yes, the only difference between a 4L60e and a 4L65e is a 5 pinion planetary gear set. Other than that they are identical in nearly every way.

Well you said it sat for a long time, could be the clutch degraded or mositure a number of possibilities. Trans stilling a long period is never really a good idea unless they are prepped for it .
