ls3 in a 04 C5 idle problems

ls3 in a 04 C5 idle problems installed a 416 CI LS# in my 04 coupe everything went well did all the conversions and wire adapters.
had a problem with the low power code coming on mymechanic diagnosed it as the wrong TB.I changed the throttle body from the gold blade to a silver LS2 TB and then had it tuned.
the problem imhaving is that the car seems to run rich.The back of my car is blacvk and the car smells of exhaust.
the major problem being that the idle will drop real low and surge.most times it will stall.also the LS2 TB i got was a used one so im thinking that i should buy a new one and try that.
any help would be appreciated
