#2 ignition coil shorted out

#2 ignition coil shorted out My 01Z #2 ignition coil shorted out and left me stranded 300 miles from home. Has anybody had issues with ignition coils shorting out? It started out as an intermittent problem, then progressed downhill from there.
I bought a NAPA coil, overnighted it, and it immediately shorted out also. I switched a good coil onto that cylinder and it shorted out also (so no bad NAPA coil).
I read a 2-3 year old thread about coils shorting out on the left bank, but nothing on the right bank.
Anybody have any suggestions? thanks, --joe
