Need help with ext mirror dimensions for 1970 Corvette Stingray

Need help with ext mirror dimensions for 1970 Corvette Stingray Does anyone on this forum happen to have a 1970 Corvette Stingray? I am helping my father to clean up and replace parts on a few of his older GM muscle cars.
He has a 1970 Corvette Stingray 454 4 spd manual with t-roofs in silver. THe exterior mirrors appear not to be correct. When the driver is sitting in the car, there is no means of adjusting the driver or passenger exterior mirrors so anything can be seen as they won't swivel "in" far enough to see anything functional.
Does anyone know what the dimensions of the mirrors should be?
A local speed shop says there are 2 different ones:
1: 6.5" x 3.5"
2. 5.5" x 3.5"
I need help from someone who knows more than i do about these exterior mirrors as i would like to put the correct ones on.
