Thanks RPM. Owning a 'Vette has really been a dream of mine since the mid '80s when, as a recent college grad, insurance reality slapped me in the face and I ended up with my 455 T/A instead. Obtaining this car is the result of the recent convergence of its reveal in '22 and my retirement in '23, great timing for me! When the LS1 was introduced in the C5s, I knew that it was a milestone achievement for GM powertrain, proven by its spawning of multiple generations of LSx / LTx engines that have cemented the pushrod V8's dominance in power density. That was one of the driving forces that made me yearn for my '98 T/A. I feel much the same way about the LT6.
Demons are wicked fast. Either get them off the line (not a cake walk) or enjoy watching their tail lights through the traps.
Now for the weather to warm up and the streets to be cleansed of salt so I can get some miles on it and break it in.

What better way to commemorate the occasion than with a new Corvette! Speaking of break-in, a local friend of mine bought a new base model C8 recently, he said something about a ~1,500 mile period of reduced engine power/redline and such, and that it automatically will allow full power after the preset amount of break in miles have been completed. I assume this is the same for Z06?
Congrats on retirement as well!

Chevy advises limiting the RPM to 4000 for the first 500 miles, and 1500 miles before any track activity (both LT2 & LT6). The car doesn't limit the RPM in the first 500 miles, but the displayed redline is reduced to I think 5000 RPM. Many folks (especially U-tube early adopters) have revved their LT6s to 8600 RPM before 500 miles, its just "not advised". Not sure if the car records these events to be used to limit warranty coverage or not, but I'm planning on being cautious just in case.
The PCM does limit the torque output of the engine (both LT2 and LT6) in the first 500 miles "in the low gears" to be sure the DCT is broken in, which may be what your friend is referring to. Following DCT break-in and initial maintenance protocol is pretty important for warranty coverage. Once 500 miles is achieved, both redline and torque output in lower gears are no longer reduced.
