Default Happy with my 99FRC, who else is racing?

Great outing at the track last night 09/23/04 in southern Ohio. I was able to get 4 runs, track was crowded. Started off really bad, 13.2 with a 2.2 60'. This is on DR's anyways as the aired cooled to about 65 when the sun went down I ran a 12.83 then a 12.64. People ask me if I am going to trade for a 6 but I have to say no way, my 5 is serving me well. Only engine mod is a Blackwing. Drivetrain mods are B&M Ripper and DR's in the 275/35/18" size.

Those are great times for the mods you have! What were your 60's on the 12.x times? Also, what were your trap speeds?
I just bought a 2000 FRC about a week ago and have yet to get it to the track. It only has a blackwing intake and a Magnaflow catback/w Xpipe.

Basic slip info below...

Best run.
60'=1.801, 1/4ET=12.582 @ 110.03. Great track prep and BFG DR's 275/35/18.

Second best run.
60'=1.95, 1/4ET=12.675 @ 108.97. Cool air and decent track BFG DR's.

Good run wuth street tires.
60'=1.97, 1/4ET=12.95 @ 108ish or more. Goodyear F1GSD3's stock size.

Key to the mid 12's, at least for me is a hard launch, 4k or better.

I race mine... Ran at good elevations, but never had good air.. Waiting to get a da under 1000 to see what she will really do. Never really had good track prep either..

12.89-12.94 @ 109 @ Fontana with Nitto DR's (A little higher elevation, but it was cooler outside, but not great air)

12.98 @ 111.49 with street tires @ Carlsbad.. 2.08 best 60 there ever. Horrible track prep, great elevation, hot temps, decent air.

Im hoping in December to run @ Famoso (great da's and great track prep) but I will probably have h/c before then, so wont really know what it does with just filter and exhaust.

Good times. With a Blackwing on street tires I would average13.1-13.2 @ 109-111mph with 2.0-2.1 60ft times. With the cam and long tubes I only got to the track once and managed a 12.78@114 again on street tires with 2.0-2.1 60ft times. Heat on that day was awful (DA was 3000+) With the heads I managed the time in my sig. Prep was bad that day and the whole group was off some. With a sub 2.0 60ft time the car should have a solid 11 in it. 3.90's are the next mod. May get some DR's for the 17" wagon wheels I have in the shed and see what it will really do. Just a little nervous that with good traction will come bad breakage.

Nice times, especially on street tires! My best has been 12.3@119mph, but I have a little traction issue as you can see below by my 60'. Best stock time (with Corsa Catback) was 13.4@104. I think I had the slowest, lowest powered C5 in history.

I don't have an FRC but my completely stock C5 ran a 13.3 @106.8 cutting a 2.1 60ft. I couldn't get traction for anything at launch. I think if I had some DR's I could get a 13 Flat or 12.9. Whatcha think?

Manual or Auto? any way I say ...

With DR's and a hooking track I launch at 4.2K to hit the mid 12 runs.

No fear for the rear snapping at that high rpms??? I launched only at 3600. Maybe I should launch at a higher rpm and take it to it!

No not here. My thoughts are if I break it Here coem 3:90's with hardend Out-Put shafts . Only if the track seems to be hooking well is when I will attempt a high RPM launch, and this is not real often. If the track is not hooking well anything over 3.5K results in spinning thru first.
