cutting stock shifter

cutting stock shifter ok guys, time to cut the stock shifter. what has to take place in order to take the stick out of the car? does the entire shifter assembly have to come out or can i just unthread the stick off the base? thanks in advance.

dont cut the stocker its a waist of time, spend 170 bucks on a good one w/ the stops..... take the square cap off the shift **** and remove the clip inside then unscrew..

I think it is permanently attached to the base. I just bought a new one. It seemed like to much trouble to cut. There is alot of them for sale on the CF. I have a kirbin and love it.
