99 Vs 00-03 C5

Is there any differences in the engine or performance of a 99 C5 vs 00+ C5??

Simple answer, yes. Others can tell you every little difference but the one off the top of my head is the LS6 intake for the 01+.

I wouldnt say major. Being from what I understand it was more internal improvements to stop oil ring consumption, piston slap and things of that. Outside of the LS6 intakes for 01+s, I believe the tune was better from 00/01 on, that and there isnt a major hp difference, only 5 (outside of the Z06 which is more, of course).

The 99's had oil consumption problems??

Not so much as the 97s. 99 or 00 was the year they started the improvements towards stopping that, but 99+ is what I'd look for if i was C5 shopping.

very cool. if i ever get a C5 it will be an FRC. youve got some differences between the 99 and the others, but nothing to worry about really. if you decide heads and or cam id say get an ls6 oil pump. id also get an LS6 intake as well. the FAST still isnt worth the extra price if you ask me, but if your going hardcore then itll work for you. simple heads and cam still doesnt need a FAST.
