Wink Cam for my 02 Z06

I am looking to upgrade my stock cam but not wanting to go to extreme. I would really prefer something that will retail stock springs, and valves. What would be the best cam for this application? Does anyone have any dyno charts of the gains I could expect for a mild cam such as this?

Thanks!

I have a low-mileage MTI B1 cam that I'm selling for $150+shipping ($400 new). Its a mild cam with a little bit of a lope. There are many B1 faithful that can comment as to how they liked this cam. It can be used with stock valvetrain. Here are the specs: 221\221,.558/.558, 114

I've seen guys make 400+rwhp N/A with this cam. I made 730rwhp with this cam and a turbo. Its probably better suited for N/A or S/C vs. a turbo.

I'm selling because I recently moved to a turbo-spec cam.

Thats a really mild cam, and would work good. Cams similar to Thunder Racings 224 and 227 cams are probably as much as you'd want to go as you say you dont want anything extreme.

fairly strong cam and still very reliable is 228/114* ... requires minimal tuning.

This is of course my opinion, but if you want to make a cam change worth the effort, and trust me it is an effort by the time you pull everything off, then I would recommend changing the valve springs, retainers and push rods to ensure that you have a solid valve train that will support changing your rev limiter to at least 6800 rpms. That along with LS1 edit will yield the best results from a mild cam. If you try to save too much money, you will end up loosing potential power and reliability.
It is much easier to replace the valve train when you do the cam change, since you will have to take everything in the way off in order to get at the rocker arms in the first place.

Thanks for the replies guys! Earl H, your cam sounds interesting! Let me do some more homework and make sure that is what I am looking for. I am not trying to save money, but have been in the import scene for years, and have been down the road of high hp and constant issues and blah blah! I really would just like to bump it up a bit on the N/A setup, and then use the spray for ! If you saw my last car, you would see that I do not cut corners, and only like the best! That is why I bought the Z06!

Thanks again!

Congrats on the Z06, you made a good choice. However I would not run a aftermarket cam on the stock springs or push rods due to reliability issues. With increased lift and duration, it is always better to upgrade the valve train which will also allow you to turn higher rpms. It is a win - win situation, you get reliability and performance. The only reason I wouldn't upgrade the valve train would be to save money, and I have never opted to do so, nor do I recommend it. Good luck.
