Exhaust question? I'm looking into purchasing an 02+ Z06 this summer and also purchasing some bolt-on mods to go along with it. I was doing some research on exhausts that are available on the market. I have a newbie question regarding the location of the cats on Z06/C5 corvettes. If I was to purchase a replacement X/H pipe along with a cat-back system will I lose the stock cats, or will the X/H pipe bolt up to the stock cats. I'm not sure where the cats are located. Basically I want an exhaust system that has the stock cats, and I don't want to buy new ones if I don't have to if I plan on getting a nex X/H pipe along with a cat-back. Hope my question makes sense?
Also does anyone know where I can go to find sound clips of different exhaust system on C5/Z06 corvettes. The two I'm interested in are the Borla Stingers, and The B&B Bullets. Thanks.

From what I understand, the X pipe systems usually come in 2 configuartions. Offroad (no cats) and onroad (w/ cats). A system like what you're wanting would be like using a Corsa Ultimate C5 crossover w/ their mufflers.

the cats are right under the front of the car where the engine and torque tube meet. you can add an xpipe after the cats(requires cutting the factory hpipe off)and then run whatever muffler system your heart desires, or you can run a random tech high flow cat and xpipe setup. this will replace everything beteen the manifolds and mufflers. the only other option would be to run long tube headers and high flow cats into whatever mufflers you decide.
