might get a z06, need help: im thinking of getting an 02 z06 and I was just wondering what cars should I watch out for? would i be able to take an 03/04 cobra, EVO8, STi, etc etc..
I know that most of these cars aren't kept stock so the majority of mods they do would i still be able to take them? (intake, etc whatever they normally put on the cars).
I don't want to get a z06 and be embarassed and lose to any mustang or japanese import so please let me know who to 'watch out for'. what would I need to mod in a z06 so I'm sure that I won't be surprised and get taken by a mustang cobra i think is the so called threat to us even though i read that they are to be competeing with the camaro so we should be out of their league.
i'm also thinking if I should just wait for the '06 z06, 500bhp

Get on the list for the 06 Z06. I saw three 05 - C6's on the used lot today. Research all the new goodies for this redesigned super car. We were looking at doing a twin turbo setup when it comes out. Just think 750 + RWHP

is it true the 06 z06 will have forged internals? so you can slap a blower on there? or would TT really be better? I was never sure on wether or not blower or turbo is better.. cause with a blower you get boost at real low RPMS like 1500 or so and with turbo sometimes there might be turbo lag or it won't kick in when you want it too. but i think we can be pretty confident when the 06 z06 comes out it'll be on the top of the food chain?

Don't get a Z06 or the 06 version for that matter if you are worried about getting beat in a straight line for 1/4mi. Anything can be made to go fast. These cars are great at that but are better a more than just that. I have owed a ZR1 and a the WS6 in my sig before the Z and it is by far the better car. In stock form the Z will spank the cars you listed provided you can drive. Even modded ones too.

Any car can get beat by any car if the driver sucks.
The Z06 is not a dragster, so if a dragster is what you are after, stick to solid rear axle and avoid independent suspension (unless you plan to pay the bucks to beef it up). On a road coarse, the Z06 rules most if not all sub $100K cars. The C6 Z06 will rule them all, for sure.
