Default Question for the 'Vette gurus

Hey guys. '02 WS6 T/A owner here, so I am a bit out of sorts when it comes to tracking down 'Vette info. So I hope you don't mind me asking here.

I'm playing Gran Turismo 4 and messing around with the '63 Split Window (possibly my favorite car of all time), and, being an old car, it suffers in GT thanks to GT's age discrimination.

They won't let you change rims on this car at all, and even on cars that you do, it's cosmetic only. And the one really big downfall of the C2s is that they ride on dimes, stock.

Just as fuel for fodder on the GT forum, any of you guys know the widest rims you can stuff in a C2?

Thanks

Mini-tub? A C2? Blasphemy!

^ is the reason I don't own a 'Vette actually. Prior to the C5 they just weren't fast enough for my tastes and I'd want to modify them, but I knew I could never allow myself to do it. It just seemed......so wrong.

I'm getting better now. But still, a mini-tub? ::::shudder::::

Although that won't help the fronts though.

lol You need traction up front to turn.

I've briefly considred that for my WS6, but the problem with going too wide out back is it throws out your cornering, giving you understeer, unless you dial out the effectiveness of all that extra rubber to neutralize it. :/

I guess 18x10.5 (when I get the money) is plenty for me. I can get that all the way 'round too. Now if I could only squeeze 18x11 up front.....

On my 64 I could run 15x8 1/2 rims with 225x50/15 tires. It was an autocross/DE car and I had to trim the inside lip on the wheel wells. With 245x50/15's, I would rub the fiberglass up to the belt line.
