I use the same size wheels/tires but have to say the 30 series sidewall stink at the drags.
there is zero sidewall flex, thus they cannot maintain traction for drag racing but are good for my real sport of open road racing.
With 3.73 rear gear, launching and getting to 3rd gear is a chore.
My tubbing is 3 inches per side.

Front:

18" x 10" HRE 545's
Michelin Pilot Sports 275/35/18

Rear:

18" x 12" HRE 545's
Michelin Pilot Sports 335/30/18

Default Big wheels - I did it!

Well I finally bit the bullet and ordered a set of big wheels today. Here is what I went with:

Front:

Michelin Pilot Sports 275/35/18

Rear:

18" x 12" HRE 545's
Michelin Pilot Sports 335/30/18

With my 2.5" tubs on each side in the rear these tires will go right in without a problem.

These will be my street tires, I'll pick up some real track tires later.

I didn't mention it becauase I don't think he is a sponsor, but Nate @ Xtreme Motorsports gave me a good deal. I can't wait to put them on!
