Donaldson air intake
Is anyone using this or any other aftermarket filter systems and can give me some advise, or gains that they have seen at the track by switching from the stock air box?
The Donaldson LS6 filter is a great product for those who want to improve breathing without hacking up the shroud. The Vortex is another good product but requires cutting a hole in your shroud.

Go with the Donaldson. I wouldn't even consider buying a car who had an owner that hacked into the shroud. Corvettes are not meant to be redneck engineered.
Says no cutting necessary, and it looks similar to an FTRA system and lid. Anyone using this?

The car loves to pull and sounds great. Get it, you won't be disappointed.
This is not an insult to anyone who is happy with the Donaldson..just my personal experience.
I hear the new vararam system is hitting the streets now..
Might be fun to try that once the reports come in.
Theres a guy on www.z06vette.com who just got his. He believes in the next week he will install it. If it works as the manufacturer claims, it might be worth a shot.
Good luck and as long as you don't use the dual conical filter, you should be good to go.
Dual cause turbulance in maf according to maf tuner steve cole. He said he couldn't work with that piece.
If you don't want to cut the shroud I had an extra conical filter laying around the garage and threw it on a local guys car. He said he was very pleased with that simple addition..
Maybe put in the z06 grills (velco in)and have the zo6 type setup?
