C5's are a little tricker to launch, eh?
I have never heard of anyone having to prestage with the airdam. How low is your car? BTW, damn good runs for a 2.4 60'. What mods are on your C5?

Yes, normally you should stage your front tire, however, the air dam sets off the staging lights. They normally get really pissed if you set off the staging lights, then go past them, then stage the tire. I guess I'll have to roll down my window next time and explain to the guy what im doing so he doesnt freak out about me going past the lights.

NastyC5, the car is loooow. Like, really low. The car has an air filter and a B1 cam. 340rwhp. Yeah, I'm really impressed with a 13.1 with such a bad 60'.

If I recall, your c5 doesnt have the side skirts on the air dam. Maybe if you had those you could stage with it.

Good point. And my center air dam is totally screwed from a certain rock.

I sent a needed parts list to a few online dealerships today so hopefully replacement parts will be sent soon.

Default Staging a lowered C5 at the drag strip

I finally went to the strip last night for the first time in the C5. I have to say, staging my car is the biggest PITA of all time. Its so low that I have to stage the thin air dam. The wind blows wrong and I turn one of the prestage lights off. Blah.

Anybody else have this trouble? Think I should pull past and just stage my front tire each time?

The car ran 13.12@113mph with a 2.45 60'. My launches own all of you, thank you very much. The clutch let out on the runs after that. Fun fun fun. jmX + ls1 clutch = bad karma.

Maybe I'm confused, shouldnt you always stage with your front tire?
