Good question, however, nobody I know thats interested in performance runs a platinum plug. Get TR55's if performance is what you want. Plug changes are easy on the vette so there's no real reason to run platinum plugs.

Are they really that easy? You get any more power? This is our first LS1/Vette so I am open to all suggestions on power upgrades and anything that will help this car. Thanks.

You're not really gonna gain any (at least any noticeable) power with a set of NGK TR55s, but I am still gonna switch out my stock plugs soon. I had a '00 Vette and changed the plugs at 7k miles and noticed that 2 of the plugs were missing the little puck off of the little arm (excuse the technical terms <img border="0" title="" alt="[Embarrassed]" src="gr_emb.gif" /> ) which meant that they were way off in gap from the others. I drove my car pretty hard most of the time so maybe you will or won't have the same thing happen, but I have read it happening to many other people with those stock platinum plugs so who knows.
