Cheapest/Most effective C5 headers and catback?
What header/catback choices are available for the C5?
Looking for 1 3/4 longtubes with X-Pipe and dual 3 inch catback.
Any ideas?
Thanks again,
Chris
ps- Do you think a 2002 Z-06 clutch will hold 420RWHP on street tires with spritied street driving?
thanks,
Chris

Neither are the least/most expensive but they do the job extremely well.
The 02 Z06 clutch may hold up for awhile but not in the long run.
I have a couple of buddies with 390 and 408 RWHP and both have had to replace the 02 with something stronger.
I'm using the Spec (Star) Stage III Carbon and it seems to be doing pretty well.
That's the first mod I am going to do when I get my C5 <img border="0" title="" alt="[Big Grin]" src="gr_grin.gif" /> <img border="0" alt="[cheers]" title="" src="graemlins/gr_cheers.gif" />
Its in their newest catalog.

Cant say I know of any C-5 exhausts that are dual 3". If your set on it, you'll probably have to go custom.
As for cheapest headers, the would have to be the TPIS or RK Sport at around $800. There essentially the same thing, just that the RK Sport are v-flanged, while the TPIS are slip fit. The down side is that they only have a 2.5" collector.
For a 3" collector you need to look at FLP or LG. The LGs are VERY expensive, over 2K for the whole setup. FLPs have shown pretty decent numbers and have 3" collectors, but they are sold as a whole setup(headers, cats,OR pipes, intermediate pipes, and x-pipe). The thing is that although they have 3" collectors, they neck down to a 2.5"(either just before, or just after the cats... cant remember). I have an e-mail from Mitch at home detailing them a little better, which I can forward to you if you interested. If your stuck on a 3" cat-back, maybe FLP could sell a set of headers only, without the 2.5" sections??? Past that, you probably have to go custom, or just opt for a pair of 3" cutouts.
Either way, good luck with the decision. The C5s not as quick as my old WS6, but it sure is a blast to drive.
Later,
I could probably do up something custom relatively easily with some mandrel bends. <img border="0" title="" alt="[Smile]" src="gr_stretch.gif" />
I need to have a good look under the C5 at the tunnel and see what I can come up with. I am sure I make something to fit in there that flows awesome.
Cheers,
Chris
