Help us remove shift ****!! My buddy has an '02 C5 6 speed. We installed B&B exhaust today and he also had a carbon shifter **** tp put on but we couldn't get the origianl **** off to save our idotic... brainless...lives!!
Whats the trick to removing the **** on a factory manual shifter?

Re: Help us remove shift ****!! Pop off the little plastic thing that has the shift pattern drawn on it and under there you'll see the end of a metal "key" thats pressed into the top. You gotta get some vice grips to pull that motherbitch out. If that doesnt work, drill the sucker out. The key is the most evil thing ever....it'll probably not want to come out too easily.

Re: Help us remove shift ****!! And if that fails - get one of those strap wrenches with the moulded 1 piece plastic body and high friction rubber strap. I needed to get my (non-stock) shifter **** off but it was screwed on crazy tight by my car's previous owner. The wrench worked a charm and won't damage the shifter **** at all.
