Surging problem at cruse I hope you guys can help me, I have been fighting this surging problem in my 2000 C5 M6 when I hold the car at a steady throttle setting it feels like the fuel is cutting off or there is a timing problem, Idle is fine and it picks up just fine it seems to happen just when I cruse at a constant speed and it seems to be the worst at about 1800-2000rpm I have ran an autotap and strims and ltrims look good o2's look good, when I added a 7PSI SC I thought it would ether get worse or go away but its still there and thoughts from anyone this is driving me Cazy <img border="0" alt="[Banging Head]" title="" src="graemlins/gr_banghead.gif" /> <img border="0" alt="[whiner]" title="" src="graemlins/gr_cry.gif" />

Re: Surging problem at cruse Check to make sure all connections between the air bridge, throttle body, and MAF are secure, if any of these are leaking, it can cause it to do that. I had the same problem with mine, and re did all connections, and all is ok.. Also could be the Intake air temperature sensor or wires leading to it could be bad

Re: Surging problem at cruse Is there an easy to check the IAT sensor to see if its bad? also I'm seeing about 40 Degrees of timing when crusing at a constant speed as soon as I figure how to post the atap reading I need one of you gear heads to let me know wht you think

Re: Surging problem at cruse Post the logs or email them to me and I'll look at them. Its easy to tell if an IAT sensor is bad....if it reads way off from what it actually is outside, its probably bad. <img border="0" title="" alt="[Wink]" src="gr_images/icons/wink.gif" />
Things to maybe do...
- Try somebody elses maf
- check throttle body blade for oil/grime buildup
- keep gas pedal at steady position at cruise but log TPS (throttle position sensor) in autotap to see if its moving around
